Mohamad Al-Marri is a lecturer at Qatar University's Department of International Affairs. He is completing his Ph.D. in Political Science, focusing on contemporary interpretations of political legitimacy and power structures. He holds an MA in Political Thought from the University of Exeter, where his research examined theoretical frameworks of state authority and social contract theory in Qatar.

Al-Marri has presented at various international conferences, contributing to scholarly discussions on cultural hegemony and state-society dynamics, engaging critically with Western and non-Western political thought. In his recent conference presentations, he explored themes of global justice, climate change, and transnational governance structures.

Drawing on political anthropology, his current work interrogates the intersections between political thought and religious-secular dynamics across modern political systems in the contemporary Middle East. This interdisciplinary approach combines critical theory with ethnographic methodologies to examine how religious traditions and secular institutions interact in shaping political discourse, policy formation, and governance structures.
