Nama Power and Water Procurement Company has signed an agreement with a consortium including Sembcorp and OQ Alternative Energy to develop the Dhofar Wind Power Farm project (Phase II) in Oman. The project will cover the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the wind farm, ONA reported. Salim Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, said the $111 million investment reflects partners’ confidence in Oman’s investment climate and highlights the growing role of the country’s renewable energy sector. He added the project will cut carbon dioxide emissions by around 158,000 tonnes annually and supply clean electricity to more than 18,000 homes.
