  • Iraq Exports Over 4 Million Barrels of Oil to US in February
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced that Iraq exported more than 4 million barrels of crude oil and derivatives to the United States in February of this year. Recent agreements between the US and Iraq to bolster oil production, as well as a strategy to diverge from importing Iranian oil, can be attributed to Iraq’s high export numbers to the US. It is expected that Iraq will continue to bolster its oil-producing industry, especially given the backing from the US and the move away from Iran. This shift could hamper Iranian oil production and force Iran to find new consumers in the region or beyond.
