Iraq's Director of State Organization for Marketing of Oil, Ali Nizar al-Shatri has requested more time from Turkey for discussion over a new agreement. The Iraq-Turkey Crude Oil Pipeline agreement oversees oil exports via the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline. The Agreement will expire on July 27th unless renewed. In early March, Baghdad requested to Kurdistan Regional Government leaders to allow Iraqi oil to flow again from Kirkuk via a pipeline to Turkey's Mediterranean port of Ceyhan after all international shipments had been stopped on March 1st due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
