Iraqi government installs solar systems in 307 schools and 25 health centers

Iraq’s Government Communication Team announced Monday (September 29, 2025) significant progress in its renewable energy initiative, confirming the installation of solar power systems in 307 schools and 25 health centers across government buildings. This effort is designed to reduce pressure on the national electricity grid. As part of this initiative, companies have begun installing high-capacity solar systems in these public buildings. Furthermore, a crucial project for manufacturing solar power systems is soon expected to open in Karbalaa Governorate, which will supply electricity to the national grid in Karbalaa and parts of Babylon.
