Talks between Kazakhstan and Kuwait focused on expanding cooperation in hydrocarbon processing and higher value-added energy production, in line with Kazakhstan’s national priorities. The Kazakh side encouraged Kuwaiti participation in oil refining projects, including consideration of a fourth refinery, while Kuwait’s Oil Minister Tariq Al-Roumi expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Kazakhstan this year. The two sides also discussed collaboration in refining, petrochemicals, and broader oil and gas investment strategies, and Kuwait was invited to attend the 30th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition in September 2026.
