Oil rises as investors weigh market outlook, tariffs, sanctions
Oil prices rose more than 2% on Friday as investors weighed a tight prompt market against a potential large surplus this year forecast by the IEA, while U.S. tariffs and possible further sanctions on Russia were also in focus. Brent crude futures gained $1.72, or 2.51%, to close at $70.36 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose $1.88, or 2.82%, to $68.45 a barrel.
