  • Oman Awards Consultancy Contract for Three New Gas Power Projects
Oman is advancing plans for three new combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants with an aggregate capacity of 2,800-3,000 MW, reinforcing the role of flexible gas-fired generation in supporting rapidly growing electricity demand alongside the Sultanate's expanding renewable-energy portfolio. Serbian engineering consultancy Energoprojeckt ENTEL (EPE) announced that it has secured a major consultancy services contract from Nama Power and Water Procurement (Nama PWP), the Sultanate's single procurer of power and water capacity, covering development and tendering of the three projects. EPE will serve as Technical Consultant. The new CCGT capacity is being planned as Oman simultaneously accelerates its transition towards renewable electricity.
