State-run Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded Abraj Energy Services, an Omani company, an oil-drilling contract valued at $280 million, Abraj said in a disclosure to the local bourse. The six-year contract covers the supply of four land drilling rigs for onshore Block 6 in the north of the country. “Two of the rigs will start drilling in the first quarter of 2026 and the other two in the second quarter,” the company said. The award follows PDO’s June contract granting Abraj six land drilling rigs for the 130-sq-km Block 6 in the Ghaba Basin.
