OQ Alternative Energy (OQAE), a subsidiary of OQ, has received the first batch of wind turbines for the Riyah 1 and Riyah 2 wind farms. Developed in partnership with TotalEnergies, the two projects will feature 36 turbines with a combined capacity of 200 MW. The milestone marks a key step in Oman’s transition to clean energy and supports the goals of Vision 2040 and the country’s Net Zero target by 2050. Once operational, the projects are expected to save millions of cubic meters of natural gas annually and cut carbon emissions by around 740,000 tonnes per year.
