Qatar Petroleum CEO and Minister of State for Energy Saad al-Kaabi told Reuters that Doha has shortlisted international oil companies for a stake in the megaproject, North Field expansion. Total, Exxon Mobil, Shell, and Italy’s Eni have all offered Qatar Petroleum stakes in prize assets abroad in a bid to win a stake in the multibillion project. The minister said that his country might still choose to go alone in the project unless partnership offers Doha a significant value. Qatar Petroleum plans to increase its LNG production from 77 to 110 million tons per year over the next five years by building four new production facilities.

Qatar Petroleum CEO and Minister of State for Energy Saad al-Kaabi told Reuters that Doha has shortlisted international oil companies for a stake in the megaproject, North Field expansion.
