Qatar to Sign More Long-Term LNG Contracts This Year, QatarEnergy CEO Says
QatarEnergy CEO and State Minister for Energy Saad al-Kaabi stated that Qatar has had no difficulty securing long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) contracts and plans to sign more this year. Over the past year, QatarEnergy has secured 25 million tons of long-term LNG sales, signing supply deals with European and Asian partners for gas from its massive North Field expansion. Qatar anticipates high future demand for LNG and views the Ukraine war as an opportunity to supply LNG to Europe, helping stabilize their energy supply.
