Qatari and UAE LNG Cargoes Transferred Outside Strait of Hormuz
Three LNG cargoes loaded in Qatar and the UAE were transferred between ships outside the Strait of Hormuz for delivery to India and Japan, according to vessel-tracking firms Vortexa and Kpler. Ship-to-ship transfers are relatively unusual for LNG, but the operations allowed cargoes originating from Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal and the UAE’s Das Island to continue toward buyers despite disruptions in the strait. One Qatari cargo was transferred from Al Rekayyat to Tembek and delivered to India’s Dahej terminal, while an ADNOC cargo transferred from Mraweh to LNG Enugu was bound for Japan.
