  • Qatar’s UCC signs final concession for 1 GW solar project in Syria
The Syrian Ministry of Energy has finalized concession agreements with a consortium led by Qatar’s UCC Holding to develop and operate 1,000 MW of solar power projects across Syria, part of a broader 5,000-MW energy package that also includes gas-fired plants. The solar projects cover four sites — Widian Al-Rabee, Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, and Homs — with capacities between 200 MW and 300 MW each. Under the concession framework, the UCC-led group will build, operate, and manage the plants, supplying electricity to the national grid under terms agreed with the Syrian Electricity Company.
