Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih met his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak in Moscow alongside the heads of several Russian energy companies involved in cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The Russian president Vladimir Putin is set to visit Riyadh in October. Additionally, Saudi Aramco is among the contenders to join Russia's Arctic LNG-2 project.
