Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power signs $10 billion clean energy deals
Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power has secured $10 billion in clean energy deals as it expands its renewables portfolio, the Public Investment Fund-backed (PIF) company said on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh on Wednesday. The agreements, covering partnerships, storage, research and technology, will be implemented in the Gulf, Africa, Central Asia and China. The largest deal, worth $6 billion, involves ACWA Power, Badeel and Saudi Aramco to develop projects aimed at meeting 70% of Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy targets by 2030. Badeel, formerly Water and Electricity Holding Company, is also backed by the PIF.
