  • Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) Introduces S. 2351
Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) introduced a bill to ‘promote Human Rights and Accountability in Saudi Arabia.’ The bill is the Senate version of Rep. Tom Malinowski’s (D-NJ07) H.R. 2037 which passed the House on July 15, 2019. If enacted the bill would require the Department of State to release a report on human rights in Saudi Arabia, as well as potentially apply sanctions to Saudi actors responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. The bipartisan bill is co-sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
