Dr. Yasmina Abouzzohour is joining us as a Senior Non-Resident Fellow to bring extensive expertise on GCC states' public opinion on matters related to economy, defense and governance. Dr. Abouzzohour insights and unique professional experiences will significantly enrich the Forum’s scholarship and discussions. “We are delighted to welcome Dr. Yasmina Abouzzohour to our fellowship,” said Gulf International Forum Executive Director Dr. Dania Thafer. “She demonstrated exceptional leadership in her fields, and we are excited about the perspectives she will bring to our mission of fostering understanding and dialogue about the Gulf region.” The Non-Resident Fellowship Program, established in 2018, seeks to expand the conversation on the politics, economics, and societal dynamics of the Gulf region. The New Fellow:

Dr. Yasmina Abouzzohour is a comparative political scientist specializing in trust in the military, military-society relations, and public opinion in the Middle East and North Africa. Her research has appeared in academic journals, edited volumes, and policy platforms, including publications on trust in the military (Journal of North African Studies, 2023), regime behavior (Middle East Journal, 2022), and monarchical resilience (Order from Chaos, 2022).
