GULF INTERNATIONAL FORUM WELCOMES NEW NON-RESIDENT FELLOW
Washington, DC: The Gulf International Forum, headquartered in Washington, DC, is pleased to welcome Dr. Ali Al-Kandari as a Senior Non-Resident Fellow. Dr. Ali Al-Kandari is a history professor at Kuwait University specializing in Islamist movements, social transformations, and the contemporary history of the Gulf. Dr. Alkandari holds Masters of Arts in Arab Studies from Georgetown University and received his PhD from the University of Exeter in 2014 in Arabic and Islamic Studies.
The Forum’s Non-Resident Fellowship program was established in 2018 to broaden the conversation surrounding the politics, economics, and society of the six GCC states, Iran, Iraq, and Yemen. The non-resident fellows will collaborate on research and publication with the Forum’s policy experts and team and will participate in the Forum’s panel discussions and other events. GIF will also help to amplify and share the non-resident fellows’ existing work where applicable.
