Welcoming Dr. Mahjoob Zweiri to Our Fellowship Program

GULF INTERNATIONAL FORUM WELCOMES NEW NON-RESIDENT FELLOW

Washington, DC: The Gulf International Forum, headquartered in Washington, DC, is pleased to welcome Dr. Mahjoob Zweiri as a Non-Resident Senior Fellow. Dr. Zweiri Zweiri is the Director of Gulf Studies Center and Associate Professor in Contemporary Politics of the Middle East at Qatar University. Before joining Qatar University in 2010, Dr. Zweiri was senior researcher in Middle East Politics and Iran at the Center for Strategic Studies, University of Jordan. Dr. Zweiri is an accomplished scholar who will help bringing crucial new perspectives and fresh insight from the Gulf region and the wider Middle East to the Forum’s ongoing scholarship.

GIF’s Non-Resident Fellowship program was established in 2018 to broaden the conversation surrounding the politics, economics, and society of the six GCC states, Iran, Iraq, and Yemen. The non-resident fellows will collaborate on research and publication with GIF policy experts and team and will participate in GIF’s panel discussions and other events. GIF will also help to amplify and share the non-resident fellows’ existing work where applicable.
